618 – What You Do EP (OUT NOW)

ImageIt doesn’t get much rawer than the debut EP from Holland’s hottest up and coming producer 618. Straight out of Amsterdam this youngster turned many heads with Freak You, his offering on the Loose Squares compilation in 2012. Now he drops his first solo effort which promises to rip through clubs and dance floors across the globe in 2013. The title track ‘What You Do’ is a masterpiece in simplicity. A classic hip hop vocal loop riding a wild 808 but always staying on track! Mike Skinner once said “Amsterdam ain’t a nice place off your face” and Amsterdammed could be the sound track to the images that conjures up. Creepy, infectious and dark it sits on the border of Ghetto House and Techno perfectly. For remix duties we’ve assembled a team of the finest Czech, Dutch and Slovaks in their field. Self-confessed Cherry Coke addict Boeboe has already been making waves recently with his remix work and solo releases. He gives the original a bouncier electro feel but never losing that grimy edge. Bastian aka Bas Bron’s alter ego Seymour Bits gets all squelchy acid on us with his superb rework that’s impossible to file under anything but “dope”. Slovak retro house Don Embryo does exactly that, keeping the flag flying for the old school heads and refreshes things by trading the 808 for the 909. Lastly, Czech up and comers Veit B shake things up completely serving up some slick tech house….

618 – Played Out

Introducing and brand new up and coming artist to the roster with a free download!

“618 is an up and coming dutch DJ/Producer heavily influenced by the sounds of Chicago and to be more specific Juke/Footwork throwing  his own unique blend of Hip hop, Bass and Techno into the mix whether it be in his music or Dj sets.

His first productions only date back as far as 2011 but sound far more vintage that a beatmaker who has only been cutting his teeth in the scene for two years. Citing Dj Rashad, Africa – Hi Tech and Dj Slugo as his primary sources of inspiration you know that it’s going to be heavy club ready with a dash of sophistication.

In a short space of time his music has appeared on a number of compilations such as  DZD Beattape, the World Wide Juke series and Escape From Chicago from Chrissy Muderbot’s Loose Squares label.”

He is currently set to drop his debut EP on Prague based label Meanbucket and is working on a full length album with fellow countryman Seymour Bits.”
