Here is a short but sweet blurb, the EP speaks volumes itself! Thanks for your support!
Berlin based New Yorker Naifian aka Mike Genius drops his debut release on Meanbucket a synth driven garage influenced rhythmical master piece. The sweeping sub bass and keyboards make this a perfect soundtrack for the post holiday for the long cold dark nights head.
On the remix tip Nightshifter’s premier Dj Donna Summer grabs the original and turns it on it’s head with thumping kicks and a bassline that will destroy dance floors leaving us with what could be the first certified banger of 2011.
Label bosses Dj Tuco and Quime turn in two separate remixes the first of which heavily reflects Tuco’s 1996 ghetto house influences. Finally with Quime who gives us what can be described as a Uk Funky remix with an old school rave twist.
Our Czech Buddies Electro & Roll have started making a few moves down in Morava, they have just dropped the Bad Case EP from Cuffia who we are tipping to become one of the hottest Dj/Producers in the country, full of toilet humor, shuffling beats and wobbly yet not so in your face basslines make the original a sure shot but they also have a whole host of remixes including one from Slovakia’s incredibly talented Bad Mojo who you may remember from his Disco Kicks remix and Embryo who works the track into a rave monster than could be straight from 1992.
Download the zip here or download the individual tracks from their soundcloud!

Another EP from Top Billin’ came through the other day, not had much time to post lately so a little late on this one from Canadian Chauffeur, a nice well rounded 5 track EP that ranges from twisted Disco House to full on electro bangers, we’ve been given the go ahead to post our favorite track The Things You Do.
With the greatest sporting event in the universe having finally kicked off here is a completely unrelated track! Sylaxia come with a blinding remix of M.I.A’s XXXO a track we are feeling here at Meanbucket towers. Summer vibes
With the first release date imminent and the label launched we’ve decided to introduce a few more producers/Dj’s that have hit Meanbucket radar on our travels.
First up Yonilla Ice, this dude came to our attention after I was playing a few parties in Aachen, the other DJ’s at the party were dropping awsome tracks & remixes I’d never heard before making the club get crazy, I later found out most of them were by a local boy from the mighty Booty Call crew in Cologne. Wether on a club or house tip he comes with pure heat and we really cannot understand why the interweb is not all over this dude!
He’s kindly given us permission to post up a few of the tracks from his soundcloud, and I’m pretty sure most you who DJ will be wanting to drop at least one of these over the weekend! We will be sure keep you up to date on future tracks/releases watch >>this<< space!
Apologies to my North Rhine-Westphalia crew for letting your best kept secret out of the bag!
Always good to get Nightshifters mail, even more so when the boss mr Dj Donna Summer is coming down to play our party this saturday at Central Station in Prague, we are super hyped about this as Nightshifters has been on of our favourite labels since it’s humble beginings! The only issue I had is I had to stop listening to Don’t Be Cruel by Bobby Brown on repeat to check it out!
Here is the press release that came with the Proper Villians mail out and a download links to to the track, don’t for get to click the buy links as well. it’ll be money well spent!
Over a year in the making, Nightshifters is proud to release a massive new EP by New York City’s own Proper Villains! “Big Top” is about as big as you can go, complete with swervey bass, air horns galore, ghetto claps and even some of that most coveted of rave resources – the piano breakdown! Yes, this is perfect for the festival season and if this don’t get those filthy ravers going, then nothing will.
The title track, “Big Top”, is a rolling bass-house masterpiece with massive undulating bass under horn stabs and wait -is that Ozzy? “Music Takes Me Up” keeps the rave going with an uplifting synth-line that lifts the roof right off the club. But it’s the track “Rave Juice” that will surly give you flashbacks of them old-school piano vibes all the way. We round out the release with “Sick Like” a hot as hell heaving rumbler that fits perfectly between old-school and new, UK and Detroit, house, dubstep, and jungle. Oh hell yeah, it’s that-kind of beast.
And to compliment the original tracks are a suite of remixes from producers around the world that push “Music Takes Me Up” in totally different directions – just like we like it. The collective known as C.R.S.T. from Wales strips the original down and gives it an eerie tech vibe – very deep. Representing Chicago and Ghetto Division comes MaddJazz with his marching snares and UKF flavors with a touch of Bmore. Edu K from Brazil has been heating up the scene lately and here he delivers a sort of double-time minimal joint with piano stabs and scads of swing. And last but most assuredly not least is the epic remix by Philly’s Emynd, a complete flip of the original with a classic Philly soul backbeat and horns-a-plenty.
Great to see the Top Billin’ team still releasing non chin strokey straight up club heat, that’s still very much we are about here a Meanbucket HQ!
“Welcoming Club Cheval (the horse club) to the ever-growing Top Billin family!
Club Cheval aka Sam Tiba, Myd & Canblaster hail from France and make an awesome hybrid of club beats, dancehall, house & techno, just the way we like it. Their new ep is already getting a lot of support from all the top players and and you can also find Sam Tiba’s ‘Barbie Weed’ on the new Crookers mix cd (dope).
Check out this awesome release from France and watch out for the Club Cheval boys at your local club very soon.”
